Exclusive Fairway Tour of Tamarisk Country Club’s Architectural Legends

Discover the architectural legends of Rancho Mirage on a ‘behind the scenes’ two-hour guided tour. Be whisked by a golf cart in groups of seven across the fairways of the Tamarisk Country Club golf course designed by William Bell, a treasure trove of significant architecture, featuring some of the most important homes in the Coachella Valley.

This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity begins with a deep dive into the fascinating history of the historic Tamarisk Country Club, established in 1952, where entertainers like Frank Sinatra, Red Skelton, and the Marx Brothers owned homes while legends Ben Hogan, Ellsworth Vines, Johnny Revolta and LPGA co-founder Shirley Spork served as golf professionals. One of the host clubs of the Bob Hope Desert Classic, from the outset Tamarisk was ‘unrestricted’ allowing any race or creed to join, a rarity at the time. The tour will showcase significant homes (exteriors only) designed by famed modernist architects including William F. Cody, Val Powelson, Donald Wexler & Richard Harrison, Buff & Hensman, C.H. Barlund, Stan Sackley, and Crombie Taylor. Unlike most country clubs, no two homes at Tamarisk are the same.
