ABOUT THE EVENT
For the first time, Preservation Mirage, in collaboration with Desert Braemar, will open the gates of this unique mid-century community exclusively to Preservation Mirage members. Please join us for a talk, walking tour, and reception at the historic Desert Braemar community in Rancho Mirage, designed by John C. Lindsay, AIA in 1956.
One of the first as well as the largest cooperative apartment and townhouse complexes in the valley, Desert Braemar features 100 one, two, and three-bedroom residential units, designed in a village-garden setting in twelve acres of landscaped grounds.
Melissa Riche, Preservation Mirage founder and author of ‘Mod Mirage’ and Adele Cygelman, author of ‘Arthur Elrod: Desert Modern Design’ will speak about the innovations of this community and its influence beyond, featuring vintage photographs and advertisements.
All proceeds benefit our mission to educate and advocate for the architectural history of Rancho Mirage.
